For many people, being a “person of faith” means being someone who attends a religious gathering regularly. Faith is so much more than that. Faith is a powerful and dynamic force that can transform lives and change any situation. One quality of faith that should be focused on is that faith presses in to what God is doing.
Throughout Scripture, we see story after story of faith driving people to pursue God against all odds. The woman with the issue of blood had been sick for twelve years. She was considered unclean and unworthy. However, when she saw Jesus passing by she crawled and clawed her way to Him because her faith drove her to do so.
The paralyzed man couldn’t reach Jesus but his friends had such faith that they carried him onto a roof and tore it open just to lower him to Jesus. Their faith pressed in to what God was doing. The sinful woman walked into a dinner of religious men because she knew Jesus was there and she had to pour out her perfume as an act of gratitude and worship.
Faith will always press in to Jesus. It’s more than just what you do on Sunday mornings. It’s the heart you have on Sunday morning and every other moment of the week as well. Faith presses in!
