You Can’t Deny It

By Pastor Jeffrey Smith

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. -Galatians 5:22-25

If we live by the Spirit, we will walk by the Spirit allowing the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be evident in our lives.

You can tell a lot about someone from their mannerisms and they way they talk. Even Peter in Matthew 26:73 couldn’t hide the fact that he was a follower of Jesus. The people could see that he was like Jesus because of the way he talked. We can’t deny who we really are, just like Peter couldn’t deny who he was. Who we are comes out in our talk, our mannerisms, and they way we live our life.

Our lives are supposed to be so full of Jesus and the fruit of the Holy Spirit that we cannot deny him even if we wanted to. Something is supposed to be so distinct about us that people around us question who we really are.

Other people should notice that we are different and not the same as who we used to be before we knew Christ. In our world, everybody wants you to be like them so that you don’t stand out as someone who looks like God. When you stand out, it makes them uncomfortable. But we are called to stand out. We are called to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

So today, walk boldly and let the fruits of the Holy Spirit be evident in your life. Live a life that is honoring to God. Our lives are supposed to be so full of Jesus and so full of the fruit of the Holy Spirit that there will be no denying whose we are.
