What You Believe About What You Heard
By Pastor Jeffrey Smith

A woman in the Bible had a desperate need. She was sick for 12 years. She spent all of her money searching for a cure and found none. It grew worse. She had tried everything, but then she heard about Jesus. Desperately, she made a decision to find Him and touch Him.

In Luke 8:44-48, we read,

She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

Sometimes in life we try to find solutions to life’s most difficult problems and search in areas that don’t really work. Those attempts might give a temporary fix, but they don’t fix what is inside.

This women heard about Jesus and then did something.

What have you heard about Jesus? Whatever you heard, it is still not enough until you make a desperate decision to find HIm.

This women in the Bible believed that just the small act of touching his coat would be enough for her miracle.  She decided to put her focus on the only one who can save her - Jesus. She believed in what she heard about Jesus.

You see, it’s not what you heard about Jesus, but what you believe about what you heard about Jesus that makes the difference in your life.
