In Heaven, we will have responsibilities and rewards that God is going to entrust us with.

In Matthew 6: 19-20, Jesus explained, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves.”

Jesus tells us to be smart and think about eternity. He is encouraging us to increase our wealth in our heavenly bank account. Why? Because there is going to be an economy there; there are going to be responsibilities there. In heaven, there are going to be ways of spending and stewarding what God has given us in this life.

The Bible beckons us to take this life for all it's worth and live intentionality. We will all stand before God someday.  When we have been faithful stewards of what he has given us, we will hear him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Our lives on earth are like a building and the foundation is Christ. Every day, we choose the materials to build with. We build with our attitude, with the way we approach life, with our consciousness toward the kingdom, and how thoughtful and mindful we are of kingdom things.

I Corinthians 3:12-15 expounds on this: “Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. If what has been built on the foundation survives, the builder will receive a reward. If the work is burned up, the builder will suffer loss; the builder will be saved, but only as through fire.”

The builder receives a reward in heaven. The things that we do in this life as well as our losses are multiplied exponentially in heaven. Be mindful of what you are building today.
