Don’t Miss Your Moment

Pastor Jeffrey Smith

After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:12-13

Most of our waking moments in life are not in the big events, but in the moments that happen in the middle. The time that we spend in between the big events and big moments of our lives will be wasted because we’re waiting for God to move but we fail to realize that He wants to speak to us in the everyday situations of our lives. Elijah went to the top of the mountain expecting God to move in a big way, but instead of moving in the wind, in the earthquake or in the fire, it was in the gentle whisper that Elijah felt the Lord’s presence.

Don’t miss your moment just like Elijah did. A man cut off from His future will always go back to his past. Elijah didn’t have to wander far to hear God’s voice. He made it harder than it had to be. How do you hear heaven? The answers aren’t hard to find. If you want to hear from heaven, you’ve got to learn to hear the gentle voice. His quiet voice is speaking to you. It’s speaking hope. It’s speaking a future.
